A Cordial Invitation

party invitationAs a famous hobbit once said, I WISH TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!

Don’t worry, I’m not about to pull a Bilbo and vanish forevermore. How could I do that to my loyal readers? 😉 I mean, you *are* loyal, right? (Kidding, kidding. I know you are, and I deeply appreciate it.)

Returning to the topic at hand, the announcement is more of an invitation, and it has to do with a birthday—but not mine. This particular birthday is for my DLB (dear little blog). If you got the nod to DLF from Prince Caspian, congratulations. You earned a gold star.

Anyway, I’m going to be celebrating my blog’s one year birthday next Monday. I’m still having a hard time getting my mind to wrap around the fact that I’ve been doing this for an entire year. In some ways, it feels like I only started a couple months ago, but in others I feel as if I’ve been doing it for years.

“Whoop-dee-do,” you might think. “Why does that matter?”

Because, my dear friend, how do you celebrate a birthday? You throw a party, of course. Furthermore, it will be a party in the style of hobbits—you come to celebrate my blog’s birthday, and in return you get gifts.

What sort of gifts? I’m still figuring out all the details, but at the moment, I can say with certainty that I’m going to be holding a giveaway, thanks to a handful of my author friends who are contributing books (because sadly I have nothing to giveaway).

Actually, that may not be entirely true, so stay tuned.

I want to use this as an opportunity to thank everyone who reads my blog, even if you don’t do it regularly. If I get my thoughts together, I’d also like to share what the future holds for my blog, and related to that, what you can expect from me on the story side of my writing life.

I’d like to cordially invite you to my blog’s birthday party next Monday. Come enter the giveaway, hear me gush about how awesome my readers are, and find out what else I may have cooked up this week.

If you’re so inclined, I would love it if you shared this with the thousands of friends I know you have. 😉

Because the more the merrier, right?

As always, thank you. Hope to see you next week!

In the meantime, may the odds be ever in your favor. 😀

    1. Thanks, Paul. As a lover of Sanderson, that’s a huge compliment for me. A friend of mine designed it. I gave him the general idea of the color scheme and image I wanted and he made it 50 times better. 🙂
