40 Things a Geek Should Do Before Dying

If you’re a geeky lover of sci-fi, fantasy, and all things fantastical, you’re a special person.

Being a geek is a unique experience, one filled with opportunities for fun an adventure. One begging for a bucket list of cool, geeky things to do.

With that in mind, here are 40 things you, as a geek, should do at least once before you die.

  30. Own a wardrobe
  31. Learn the lyrics of a song in elvish
  32. Determine which Harry Potter house you belong in
  33. Try your hand at making Turkish Delight and butterbeer
  34. Host a fandom-themed party
  35. Buy a replica of the One Ring
  36. Make your own character costume
  37. Use the three finger salute from Hunger Games when greeting someone (if you’re bold, do it to a total stranger)
  38. Build a replica of Captain America’s shield
  39. Play a board game based on a fandom, such as Lord of the Rings Risk or Star Trek Settles of Catan
  40. Go to a train station, find the wall between platforms nine and ten, and…you know what to do 😉

What would go at the top of your list to do? Which of these have you already done? Tell me in the comments. I’d love to hear about your geeky endeavors.

  1. Hehe.

Well, let’s see… I’ve never managed to watch the entire Lord of the Rings in a single day…. but I have watched all the special features, and just finished watching all the special features on the Hobbit trilogy and watched An Unexpected Journey and the first third of Desolation yesterday… and plan to keep watching each evening until we get through to the end of Return of the King.

Hm, doing #2 for the first time this Fall! Yay!

7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, (29 – have watched all of them, and spent a good couple of months getting together with friends every weekend to watch the movies… hard to do movie marathons when you have small children who will wake up early every morning no matter how late you go to bed!!), 32, 35, 36, 37 (despite not being a fan of the story), 39…

Hey, a bucket list I’m actually doing well at! 🙂 hehe

    1. I don’t think I’ve watched the entire trilogy in a single day, either. :-/ Wow, that’s great.

Ooohhh, fun. Comic cons are a blast. I’ve only been to one and I loved it.

Whoa, you’re killing it, Jennelle. Awesome. 😀

      You’re doing better than I am…
