This story was actually the result of a writing contest I took part in for a writers’ conference back in 2014. I actually wrote two stories and ended up choosing to submit The Healer. I didn’t win, but I had a lot of fun.
THE TIME THAT WAS NOT
GENRE: sci-fi (time travel)
LENGTH: novella
I posted this as a serial story on my blog. The idea came to me in the middle of the night (ideas have no respect for bedtime) shortly after I saw the movie The Shawshank Redemption for the first time. The premise of the story is, “What if you can be given a chance at redemption for a past crime?”
Which naturally led to time travel. 😉
